Created an installable linux print server based on Ubuntu. The purpose was to create a print server that could create an archive of printed documents and redirect the job to printer that was not part of a closed proprietary ERP system software. It intercepted the PCL print job, converted it to a Text searchable PDF and sent the PCL print job to the specified printer. It stored the print job locally and the PDF in a shared folder allowing a separate process such as a document archival system to further manage the document to an end user’s specific needs.
